Application and Registration Deadlines

The North Georgia Summer Honors 2008 Program begins at 5 PM on Suday, June 15. On Friday evening, June 27, parents of all participants are invited to the Summer Honors Awards Night Banquet from 6 – 8 PM. The application deadline is April 25, 2007.

Summer Honors admissions decisions for all applications received or postmarked by April 25 will be made by May 1, 2008. There is no application fee. A rolling admissions process allows qualified students to be notified prior to May 1. Students can apply to and be accepted for participation beginning March 30, 2008.

Once admitted to the program, participants will receive a registration packet. The registration materials including the $1,195 registration fee are due by May 15, 2008. An early registration discount of $100 is available when registration materials and payment are received by May 1, 2008.

Some students' participaton will be sponsored by their school disctricts (see link for details). All other participants must include payment with their registration materials which should be mailed to the address below. Those who wish to pay with a credit or debit card may call the NGCSU Continuing Education office at 706-864-1918. State that you are paying the registration fee for Summer Honors, give the full name and high school of the participant, and funds will be credited to the proper account.

All students are welcome to apply. The suggested minimum GPA is 3.5, but other students may be admitted. For students not meeting the suggested grade average, the admissions team will look for high standardized test scores, a strong letter of recommendation from a teacher who knows the student's capabilities well, and/or particiaption in extra-curricular and co-curricular activites. Leadership positions on sports teams, academic clubs, service organizations and with other co-curricular activities are highly valued.
